Built to deliver powerful ignition performance at extreme RPM levels, this unit produces 150 millijoules of spark energy up to 15,000 RPM, ensuring consistent combustion and improved engine efficiency under demanding race conditions.
This ignition box features a built-in Soft Touch Rev Limiter, which helps protect your engine by smoothly controlling RPM when the preset limit is reached, reducing the risk of engine damage while maintaining drivability.
With a 550-volt primary output to the coil, the 6HVC-L provides the strong spark needed for high-compression racing engines. It also delivers multiple sparks for up to 20 degrees of crankshaft rotation, improving fuel burn and throttle response, particularly at lower RPM ranges.
Designed for versatility, the MSD 6HVC-L accepts breaker points, amplifier, and magnetic pickup trigger inputs, making it compatible with a wide range of racing ignition setups. A 6-pin Weathertight connector, required for NASCAR competition, ensures secure and reliable electrical connections in harsh racing environments.
For durability and easy inspection, the unit is protected by a clear epoxy potting compound, which guards internal components from vibration and shock, while the clear base plate allows for quick and easy tech inspection.
